“I have been a roots guitar player specializing in blues, country and rock and roll for over 30 years. I have been lucky enough to share the stage/studio with some of the finest musicians in the business such as Gary Clark Jr., Delbert McClinton, Double Trouble, James Cotton, Billy Joe Shaver, Greg Rolie, Uncle John Turner, Redd Volkaert and many more. For the last few years, I have split my time playing lead guitar for Shelley King and Clay McClinton.
Aside from live performance and recording, I have been a sought after guitar teacher for over 25 years. Specializing in blues, country and rock n roll, from beginner to advanced, all ages and levels. I began my teaching career in 1990 at McDonald’s Music Store in Marquette, MI. After relocating to Austin, TX I taught at the Austin Guitar School for 8 years, before branching out and starting my own private guitar school from my home.”

“Tony is a gifted guitar player and teacher. He enthusiastically helps students explore the the music they love while encouraging them to stretch themselves as musicians. My son, now a long-haired rocker teen, began studying with Tony when he was just a little fourth grader. Tony’s patience, musical knowledge, and intuition for instruction has transformed him into a fine guitarist in his own right.” – Anne-Charlotte Patterson
“Tony is the best teacher I have ever had. He is incredibly patient and instills confidence in every student he teaches. I have been taking lessons from Tony for over 10 years. I sincerely recommend taking guitar lessons from Tony whether you are a beginner or just want to hone your craft. I wouldn’t be the musician I am today without him” – Gabrielle Pena (student since the age of 12)
Tony has been my weekly guitar teacher for the past 7 years. He has taken me from a beginner guitar player to a much more capable player during that time. Tony has all of the qualities it takes to teach guitar and to motivate his student towards continual practice and learning. He is very patient with his students and always takes time to answer their questions. He will re-explain guitar skills and technique when the student forgets or doesn’t understand. He is a professional player himself, versatile and able to expertly teach everyone from a beginner to professional guitar players looking to increase their skills. The student will quickly recognize that Tony loves all things guitar, and loves to share that knowledge and skill with his students. I look forward to my weekly lessons and I know that I am a much better guitar player because of Tony. – CL Evans
